About HIBS

HIBS is a small community of 650 young men from year 7 to year 13. Small enough for the boys to be an individual and to know the others in his community. Large enough to provide him with wide educational choices and opportunities. We are committed to ensuring that class sizes do not exceed 24. This is part of the huge advantage of an education at HIBS.

Boys are encouraged to develop to their full potential. We set high standards in every aspect of school life and our students are expected to be the very best they can. Everything we do is based on fostering excellence to prepare our boys for a successful future.

We have a culture of respect and care for one another. We value boys individually, turn out good citizens and older boys care for younger ones.

HIBS also has a reputation for top academic results in NCEA examinations. We consistently achieve some of the best pass rates in the country, as well as an exceptional number of Excellence Endorsements across all levels.
