Complete the pre-enrolment form available on this website. Once submitted, your son's information will be added to the school's pre-enrolment database for the intended year of entry. In the year prior entry to Year 7 entry, the school will contact you via email with details about our Open Day and instructions for completing a full Enrolment Application.
No, we receive more applications for Year 7 than we are able to accommodate. Please refer to the HIBS Enrolment scheme to understand the process of selection.
Yes, the closing date for applications for Year 7 entry is advertised in the local papers and on the school's website.
Vacancies for other year levels, if available, will also be advertised on the school's website with the closing date included.
Placement on the pre-enrolment database does not guarantee entry to the School. Please refer to the HIBS Enrolment Scheme.
Parents are encouraged to pre-enrol their son at any time.
Yes, you can change your child's intended date of entry by notifying us. However, if your child has already been accepted and you choose to defer their date of entry, the acceptance process will need to start anew at the new date. Please note that previous acceptance does not guarantee a subsequent place.

Once the balloted students have been offered enrolment and have accepted their positions, they will attend an Orientation Day in November, during which they will be tested for class placement.
The Ballot is conducted in early June, and applicants are notified shortly afterward whether they have been successful or not. Parents must confirm their acceptance of an offer by paying a $2,000 Advanced on Attendance Dues within two weeks.
Boys are occasionally admitted after the school year commences if places become available.

HIBS has an Open Day in Term 1 every year where the whole school is open for the public to tour. The date is advertised in the Upper Hutt Leader, Hutt News and Kapi Mana and on the website.
