Junior Programme
The study of Visual Arts is a compulsory part of the Junior programme for students at Year7, 8 and 9. It aims to give the students a broad experience with a range of processes and procedures relating to art-making. These are planned at the appropriate curriculum levels according to the NZC and students’ learning needs. The programme also aims to reflect the bi-cultural and multi-cultural character of Aotearoa New Zealand by exploring Maori and Pasifika art and their related contexts.
At Year 10 the programme becomes optional with study at this level leading to Senior Art and NCEA.
