What we do

The PSA provides practical, hands-on support at school events as well as driving fundraising initiatives for the provision of resources for all our sons to enjoy.

Hands- on Support

Whether it’s sustaining staff and students with hot food during school production week or providing tea (and a friendly face) to prospective parents during Open Day, the PSA is readily available to support the school staff and help make things happen.

You’ll find our members at numerous school and community events, such as:

  • Open Day
  • Student Breakfasts
  • Grandparents’ Day
  • Variety Show
  • Information Evening for new Parents
  • Annual Staff Xmas lunch
  • School Productions

Bringing the HIBS community together and fundraising is a crucial function of the PSA.  The PSA have contributed to many resources and improvements to the school along with supporting the International Service (IS) Trips, the Leavers' Dinner and funding for both the Year 7 and Year 10 Breakfasts.

We are sure you will agree, your son's time at HIBS has been enhanced as a result of these initiatives.

And you can be part of it too.

So long as you’re a parent or caregiver of a current HIBS student, have loads of energy and want to make a positive contribution to your son’s school, we’d love to welcome you along. Joining the PSA is the perfect way to support the HIBS community, make new friends and share experiences with like-minded parents.

Meetings are held monthly (in term time) in the HIBS staff room on a Monday night. They generally only take a couple of hours and we try to spread the workload at events so the more people willing to lend a hand, the better.
There are other ways you can help. Perhaps you (or your workplace) can sponsor our next fundraising event or provide products/services at discounted rates or donate goods. The only limit to what you can do to help your school is your imagination! And of course, we’ll acknowledge any contribution to our HIBS community through the school newsletters.
